Valley Band Camp will be held from July 25th - August 3rd!
Summer music enrichment for your middle and high school band student!
Students from ANY Valley School are invited to attend!
4 rehearsals ~ 6-8pm Monday thru Thursday, July 25 to 28, in the CHS Band Room.
Concert schedule:
Saturday, July 30 ~ Saturday Market: 12 noon; Setup 11:30am
Monday, August 1 ~ KidSpirit, OSU Quad: 12 noon
Tuesday, August 2 ~ Central Park: 12 noon
Wednesday, August 3 ~ Benton County Fair @Oak Grove Stage: 1pm
Students to arrive 30 minuties prior to all performances and will need to provide their own music stand.
Percussionists are responsible for transporting their own equipment.
Tuba players please remember to bring a chair!

Summer Band Camp Update
The 3rd Annual Summer Youth Band Camp was held at CHS July 20 - July 29, 2009. Forty students, 6th-11th grades participated from Linus Pauling Middle School, Memorial Middle School, Crescent Valley High School and CHS.
The band followed four evenings of rehearsals by presenting concerts locally at Central Park, Gracewinds Music, Corvallis High School, and concluding with a finale at the Benton County Fair.
Featured selections included: "The National Anthem", "Proud Mary", "California Girls", "Rumba Numba", "Washington & Lee Swing", "Swedish Folk Rhapsody", "Billboard March" and "A Day at Disneyland"....a medley highlighting the Mickey Mouse March, Great Outdoors, It's A Small World, You Can Fly, You Can Fly, Best Time of Your Life and Yo ho-A Pirate's Life for Me. The four concerts were well received by audiences. The commitment demonstrated by band members and their families is much appreciated!
Many thanks to Mr. Price and the Friends of CHS Band for sponsoring this summer's band events. Special THANKS to Sharon Oefelein of Gracewinds Music for graciously hosting our group amid a very hectic Saturday morning of "crazy daze" festivites! Our appreciation to Yuki Tanaka for her beautiful graphics featured on the 2009 t-shirts, as well as her talents in capturing the amazing photos now available for download on the blog. You won't want to miss them!

Summer Camp Update
The 2nd Annual 2008 Valley Summer Youth Band Camp was held at CHS this summer July 21 – July 30, 2008. Twenty-five students, 6th-11th grades participated from Linus Pauling Middle School, Cheldelin Middle School and North Albany Middle School.
The members rehearsed four days and then presented 3 concerts at the Riverfront Park, the Saturday Market and at Corvallis High School. The camp concluded with an evening of miniature golf. The music was well-received and band performed three excellent concerts.
A big THANK YOU to the Friends of CHS Band for sponsoring the band camp! A special thank you to Yuki Tanaka for designing this year’s colorful t-shirt. Next year the camp will be held July 20-July 29, 2009. The camp plans to attend and perform at the Benton County Fair next summer.
